Blue Light Protection That Fits Over the Glasses You Already Wear

If you wear prescription glasses or readers, most blue light blocking glasses force you to choose: blue light protection or vision correction. The DefenderShield® Universal Fitover Blue Light Glasses eliminate that trade-off. The wide, rectangular TR90 frames are engineered to sit comfortably on top of your existing glasses, adding a blue light filtering layer without replacing the lenses you depend on for clear vision.

Two lens options target two different use cases:

Amber (50% blue light filtering) - designed for daytime and all-day use. The slight amber tint preserves natural color perception while reducing the blue light reaching your eyes during work, browsing, and general screen time.

Orange (99% blue light filtering) - designed for nighttime use and maximum blue light reduction. The deeper orange tint filters nearly all blue light, supporting the body’s natural transition toward sleep. Ideal for evening screen sessions, gaming, and use within 2–3 hours before bed.

Lightweight and Flexible

The frames are made from TR90 - a thermoplastic nylon used in sport and medical eyewear for its combination of low weight, high flexibility, and durability. TR90 is lighter and more flexible than standard acetate, which matters when you are stacking one pair of glasses on top of another. The fitover frame is deliberately kept lightweight to minimize added bulk and maintain comfort during extended wear.

The lenses are CR-39 - a shatterproof optical plastic used in prescription eyewear. Three coatings are applied:

Anti-glare - reduces reflections from the front and back surfaces of the lens.

Anti-smudge - resists fingerprints and oils for clearer vision throughout the day.

Anti-fatigue - improves screen contrast and readability of small text.

How to use

Wearing the Fitovers

1. Put on your prescription or reading glasses as normal. 

2. Place the Fitover glasses on top. The wide rectangular frame should sit comfortably around your existing glasses without pressing on them. The temples of both pairs run parallel along the sides of your head.

3. Adjust for comfort. If the fitovers feel too snug, gently flex the TR90 temples outward - the material is designed to bend without breaking. If they feel too loose, the flexible frame will still grip gently enough to hold position during normal use.

Choosing Your Lens

• Amber (50%) for daytime. Colors remain close to natural. The slight tint is barely noticeable to others.

• Orange (99%) for nighttime. Stronger tint that shifts color perception. Maximum blue light filtering for sleep support.

Care Instructions

• Clean lenses with a microfiber cloth or lens-safe spray. Avoid paper towels, tissues, or clothing.

• Rinse under lukewarm water before wiping to remove dust.

• Store in the included case when not in use.

• Avoid chemical cleaners, alcohol, or acetone on the lenses or frames.
